Finally, there's some news on the long-awaited Coronation Street stage play which we mentioned many months ago here on the blog.
News in today from the official Corrie site is that the play is going to be written by Jonathan Harvey and will be called Coronation Street Abridged Live! It will bring 50 years of Coronation Street to life in one single stage production- this includes 115 deaths, 37 births and 86 marriages, in under two hours! No mean feat.
The play launches this August at the Lowry Theatre, Salford, before embarking on a nationwide tour. The actors haven't yet been cast. Watch this space for more!

Oh, I do hope they have a filmed performance for those of us who can't make it to England. Uh, and that it's accessible to viewers outside the UK.
Hmm... I wouldn't get your hopes up but they might film it and release it on DVD.. fingers crossed.
Will it come to North Wales? Llandudno would be ideal.
I'm intrigued. Sounds like fun.
Think of a "reduced Shakespeare company" kind of idea.... it might work.... :)
